The Sinners were a roots-rockin' roadhouse style Americana rock'n'roll band based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The band was the brainchild of drummer Erik Nielsen (Elvin Bishop, Queen Ida, Pointer Sisters), joined by Doyle Sahara (a.k.a. Jake Jacobs) on lead vocals & harp, Vinnie Fornesari on bass, and Bobbie Johnson on guitars. In concert, they were joined by the late Drake Levin, guitarist from the classic line-up of Paul Revere & the Raiders. Videos of the band can be found on You Tube. The CAST THE FIRST STONE album (issued 2002, minus Drake Levin) collects their best covers of classic rock and soul/r'n'b covers. The album was produced and mixed by Nielsen with Tom Leukens (Sammy Hagar, Booker T. Jones, Kronos Quartet, Metallica) and Scott Weiser.
